Adult Day Program in Fairfax
Insight Memory Care Center’s adult day health center provides a safe, engaging, and therapeutic environment for people with memory impairment throughout the stages of the disease. It is the only dementia-specific day center in the DC metro area and still the only adult day health center in Northern Virginia with programs for people in the later stages of a memory impairment.

Levels of Care
At Insight, we prioritize providing person-centered care. From initial Participant Lifestyle Biographies to updated quarterly care plans, we use each participant’s likes, dislikes, strengths, and interests to plan programming that best fit their current needs. Our Day Center is divided into three levels of care: Blue, Orange, and Coral. Our day center-wide staff ratio exceeds the 1:6 state requirement.
Activities
The Day Program utilizes a person-centered care approach to provide an environment that focuses on people’s strengths rather than their memory limitations, addressing the needs of the total person: physical, mental, and emotional. Recreational Therapy activities are designed for participants to restore motor, social and cognitive functioning, build confidence, develop coping skills, and of course, have fun!
Activities are offered across several domains, including: Cognitive, Creative, Movement & Physical, Social, Productive and Sensory, Reflective, Outdoor and Nature. Each level of care has it’s own monthly calendar with activities adapted for the group.

Holidays and Closures

Health and Safety
We are committed to the health and safety of our participants, participant families, staff, and volunteers. Our health and safety protocols are based on the guidance and recommendations from the Virginia Department of Health and Human Services, the CDC, and local health experts. Here’s what you should know about how we are currently operating:
- Masks are currently optional indoors. We are following current CDC guidelines for healthcare settings, based on community transmission rates.
- If you are exhibiting symptoms of illness, please stay home! We ask that you remain symptom free for 48 hours before return to the day center.
- We continue to diligently monitor possible risks and will reinstate stricter protocols if the need should occur.
