Professionals in the aging and long-term care fields are invited for a special morning of hands-on training to help you better understand those with dementia in your care!

Understanding and Caring for a Person with Dementia
9:30 am - 11:30 am
Join us to better understand those living with dementia in your care! We will discuss the different types of dementia, common behaviors, reasons for troubling behaviors, and corresponding strategies to help you communicate effectively with the individual with dementia, as well as their family members.

Virtual Dementia Tour (optional bonus!)
11:30 am - 1:00 pm
If you haven’t experienced the Virtual Dementia Tour, we invite you to stay for this additional training! The Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT) is designed to help simulate the effects of dementia. The VDT enables you to experience the physical and mental challenges those with dementia face, helping you better understand the person with dementia and use the experience to provide better person-centered care.

Cost for the workshop is $30 per person. Certificates of completion will be provided for all course participants. There is a limit of 15 participants for this workshop, so register soon!
