Our support groups give family caregivers the chance to connect, to compare similar journeys, to share practical advice, and to discuss frustrations, fears and hopes. All support groups are free and open to the public.

Dementia Support Group
Third Thursdays
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
All are welcome to attend this support group for family and friends of those with dementia and other memory impairments. This group allows care partners to problem-solve, discuss issues, and connect with each other regarding dementia in every-day life. This group will also include practical resources and guest speakers throughout the year.

Early Stage Care Partner Support Group
Second Tuesdays
2:00 pm to 3:30 pm
This group is specifically designed for care partners whose loved one has received a recent diagnosis of MCI or is in the early stages of dementia. Get to know other families who are in a similar situation, while also learning caregiving tips and sharing personal concerns and successes.

Lewy Body Dementia Caregiver Support Group
Fourth Tuesdays
2:00 pm to 3:30 pm
Do you have a friend or family member with Lewy Body dementia? Join us for this group to learn more about this specific type of dementia, and share with others who also have loved ones with the disease.

FTD Caregiver Support Group
First Tuesdays
7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
This group is specifically designed for care partners whose loved one has received a diagnosis of frontotemporal degeneration. Get to know other families who are in a similar situation, while also learning practical caregiving tips and sharing personal concerns and successes.

Bereavement Support Group

This group is specifically designed for those who have lost a family member to dementia. Insight is partnering with Capital Caring Health to offer this group. Anyone looking for bereavement support is welcome to join.

Caring for Your Parent Support Group
Third Tuesdays
7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
This group is specifically designed for those who are caring for a parent. Get to know others in this unique situation while sharing practical caregiving tips, personal concerns, and celebrating successes with others in the same boat.

LGBTQ+ Care Partner Support Group
Third Wednesdays
7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
This group is specifically designed for the unique needs, challenges and experiences of LGBTQ+ care partners for individuals living with dementia. Get to know others in a safe space, and have the opportunity to share personal concerns and successes. This group is led by Rev. Dawn Jefferson.

MCI Support Group
Third Wednesdays
12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
This group is specifically designed for individuals who have received a recent diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or who are in the early stages of memory loss. Get to know others who are in a similar situation, learn more about your diagnosis, and have the opportunity to share personal concerns and successes.

Parkinson Friends

Community Partner Groups
As we aim to support more care partners along their dementia journey, Insight partners with several community groups to offer additional in-person support groups. All are free and open to the public.
Spousal Caregiver Support Group
2nd and 4th Mondays
4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Location: The Kensington Reston, 11501 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20191
This group will offer a safe, welcoming and private setting for spouses to share their caregiving experiences, connect with other spouses going through the same journey and receive insight from an expert. Our Spousal Support Group is open to all spouses who are caring for their partner, whether that partner is living at home or in a community.

Caregiver Support Group - Great Falls Assisted Living

This group will offer a safe, welcoming and private setting for caregivers to share their caregiving experiences, connect with others going through the same journey and receive insight from an expert. There will also be group discussions and educational presentations about relevant caregiving topics.
