While we typically offer a number of programs at our location in Fairfax, there are a variety of Insight's services that can be offered remotely. We have also been working hard to expand our virtual services in our efforts to keep everyone safe and healthy during this uncertain time.

Care
Reconnections
This program has been modified to be offered virtually during this time
Reconnections is a small group activity-based program that promotes cognition, socialization, and support for individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment or who are in the early stages of dementia. Virtual activity programs are currently offered daily.

Adult Day Health Center
This program has been modified to be offered virtually during this time
IMCC’s adult day health center provides a safe, engaging, and therapeutic environment for people with memory impairment in mid to late stages of memory impairment. Currently, we are providing virtual activity programming, including both live options and in-home activity plans, social services support through consultations and care plan meetings, and nursing services to include twice weekly health check-ins, along with full staff guidance and support.

Insight at Home
Insight at Home is a virtual group designed to encourage engagement and foster meaningful relationships with other members, completely outside of participation in our Day Center. Each week the program will incorporate different topics into discussion and give participants activities to work on while at home.

Support
Support Groups
Virtual sessions available, in-person groups are on hold
Led by experts in dementia care, support groups offer people in like circumstances the chance to share practical advice, discuss frustrations and fears and connect with others who are on a similar journey in a secure group environment. Virtual groups are offered twice a week and capped at 8 individuals to ensure everyone has a chance to participate.

Consultations
Every situation is unique. IMCC can meet with families by phone to discuss a family’s specific needs or challenges and make recommendations of area resources that may be appropriate. Staff can meet over the phone or through a web conference with you and your family.

SHARE Program
The SHARE Program is a series of 5 weekly sessions that provides families with a recent diagnosis of dementia an opportunity to discuss values and preferences for care, in order to build a strong network of support they can rely on now, and in the future. Sessions can be held by web conference.

Memory Cafe
This program has been modified to be offered virtually during this time
The café is an opportunity for caregivers and their loved one to meet with others for support, companionship, and fun! The program provides structured activities to promote reminiscence, cognition, and engagement. The cafe will be offered virtually beginning in April!

Education Programs
Classes for Family Caregivers
Virtual sessions available, in-person classes are on hold
Free specialized classes are offered for caregivers to build their skills and confidence while learning more about Alzheimer's resources in the community. Webinars are designed for families caring for a loved one at home. Sessions include both basic dementia education and specialized topics.

Professional Training

With our expertise in dementia care, IMCC can provide consulting services and specialty seminars virtually for long-term care facilities and other professional groups serving older adults.
